Rumor: Jason Momoa Signs On For BATMAN VS SUPERMAN
Yesterday afternoon we learned that Ray Fisher, a relative newcomer to the silver screen, has joined the cast of the highly anticipated and unofficially titled Batman Vs Superman film. Fisher, who will fill the role of Cyborg makes the fourth hero for that film, joining Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman, played by Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck and Gal Gadot respectively. For some time now, it has been rumored that the Man of Steel sequel has been transitioned into a Justice League film, or at the very least, a way to introduce the iconic team. There have been numerous other actors and characters rumored for the film, one of whom is Jason Momoa, who has been attached to the role of Aquaman, the commander of the seas and ruler of Atlantis. The actor has said repeatedly that he is not involved with the film in any way and that these rumors are just that: rumors.
However, this afternoon the rumor has resurfaced, as Batman-News has learned from a source that Momoa has actually signed on for the film and it happened a while ago. Says the site:
According to my source, Momoa signed the dotted line and joined the Batman vs. Superman cast a couple of months ago. There’s no word yet on who Momoa will be playing, but previous rumors have tied him to Aquaman. I’m labeling this as a rumor for now, but I feel that this information is accurate based on who I got it from.
As with any rumor, take this news with the usual grain or two of salt. News on this project has been scarce, with Zack Snyder and company keeping things closed up pretty tight. Being that his name and this character keep surfacing together, it is quite possible that this deal actually happened and all of his denials have been nothing more than a decoy. This is just another game of “wait and see” that we’ve been forced to play.
Batman Vs Superman, which is an unofficial title, is scheduled to begin filming in the coming weeks. We know that Jesse Eisenberg will be playing the role of Lex Luthor, joining Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Amy Adams, Diane Lane and Jeremy Irons.
