Rumor: Gotham PD Television Show In The Works
Warner Bros. are doing a lot of work on the television front these days. Things are gearing up for the second season of Arrow, and of course we’ve all been hearing about The Flash plans. The speedster will be introduced in Arrow and will then, most likely, get his own show in the vein of the Emerald Archer’s series. Yet another TV show is rumored to be in the works. This one would feature a return trip to the Nolanverse.
ThinkMcFlyThink reports that WB is batting around ideas and possibly looking for writers to tackle a Gotham PD show the would take place after The Dark Knight and before The Dark Knight Rises. So it’s set in the 8 year gap where Bale‘s Bat was retired. The story would involve “the pressure on Gotham’s finest to take control of the city during Batman’s hiatus from crime fighting.” The rumor is that Jonathan Nolan would be involved in an analogous role as Marc Guggenheim on Arrow.
A Gotham PD, or more accurately Gotham Central, show would seem to be borrowing from Ed Brubaker and Greg Rucka‘s Eisner winning series titled Gotham Central. The description fits the comic series to a “T.” I would advise taking all of the above with a giant grain of salt for now, but what do you think about a possible Gotham cop show?
