Rumor: Colm Feore’s Amazing Spider-Man 2 Character Revealed? Spoilers Ahead!
Let me issue the usual SPOILER WARNING here, as there may be some info included here that would be considered spoilerific! If you don’t want things to be spoiled, then I suggest you stop your reading now and go check out the pics of Megan Fox bending over cars and motorcycles.
Still with me? OK, so the folks over at ComicBookMovie have learned from an un-named source who Colm Feore will be playing in Marc Webb’s upcoming sequel to The Amazing Spider-Man, which is currently filming in New York. Feore was brought on a while back, but no information was given as to who he would be playing. We have seen an image that Webb posted via his Twitter account that showed Feore standing in front of a door that featured the Ravenscroft logo, which, as fans may know, is a hospital featured prominently in the Spider-Man comics.
According to this source, Feore will be playing Adrian Toomes, better known as the Vulture. The news doesn’t stop there either. Apparently, Toomes will team up with Electro (Jamie Foxx), Rhino (Paul Giamatti) and Green Goblin (Chris Cooper), which will lead to the formation of the famed Sinister Six which would be the main focus in the third film. We’ve previously been lead to believe that we would not see the transformation of Norman Osborn into Green Goblin in this film and that it would take place in the third film. If this rumor plays out, then we will see it happen in this film and according to the site, the final battle will be between Goblin and Spidey.
Chris Cooper was spotted on set as Goblin (head in place;) battling Spider-Man, and we’re told they’ll likely be duking it out in the movie’s climax, no doubt leading to the death of Miss Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone).
No word on which two characters will fill out the roster, but there are certainly several to choose from, including Kraven, Mysterio and Doc Ock. There is also a chance that the Lizard may return. There have also been minor hints that Venom could show up, using Dane DeHaan’s Harry Osborn to fill the role.
I think it goes without saying that this news should be taken with the usual dosage of salt until we can get more confirmation. My only reasoning behind this is merely the fact that this is a huge number of villains to manage in one film. I’m betting even the most veteran of film makers would tell you the same thing. Don’t get me wrong, I’d love to see the Sinister Six in a film , but it is a huge undertaking and would require a deft hand. We’ll be sure to keep an eye on this one to see what comes of it. Especially since filming is underway. If indeed Cooper has been seen on set donning the Goblin gear, I’d expect images to come online soon.
