Rosario Dawson Joins DAREDEVIL Series
Netflix and Marvel are gearing up to begin filming the first of four series to air on the popular streaming site. Daredevil will be the first out of the gate, with Jessica Jones, Iron Fist and Luke Cage to follow. This will culminate in a Defenders miniseries that will also be featured on the site. After a rather tumultuous start, we’ve landed on Steven DeKnight as a show-runner after Drew Goddard left the project. Shortly after, it was announced that Charlie Cox (Stardust) would be playing the titular role. More recently, in a bit of genius casting, Vincent D’Onofrio landed the role of Kingpin.
Today comes a scoop from EW that states actress Rosario Dawson has signed on to the project. While her character isn’t named, a rather vague description was given by the site:
…we’re told Dawson will play a “dedicated young woman whose quest to heal the wounds of Hell’s Kitchen brings Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) unexpectedly crashing into her life, while her own journey forever alters the course of his battle against the injustices of this broken city.”
Hmmm…any thoughts on that one? Filming on the series is expected to begin this summer, with it hitting Netflix next year. Rosario Dawson can next be seen in the highly anticipated and log awaited Sin City: A Dame To Kill For this August. We can expect to see more and more casting on this series as well as the other three in the coming weeks and months, so stay tuned to Comic Book Therapy for all the latest. Full press release below.
