by

guardians of the galaxy bannerThis week will see the release of a big batch of character posters for James Gunn and Marvel‘s cosmic outing, Guardians of the Galaxy. It appears Peter “Star-Lord” Quill (Chris Pratt), Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Drax the Destroyer (Dave Batista), Rocket Raccoon (Bradley Cooper), and Groot (Vin Diesel) will be getting their own moments in the spotlight as a new poster is released every day this week. The deadly duo of Rocket and Groot kick things off.

Fandango unveiled the first poster for the highly-anticipated film featuring the two characters who serve as the heart and soul for Gunn‘s flick. Rocket and Groot are an inseparable bounty hunting duo, so it makes sense they make their character poster debut together. You can see Rocket wielding a big ol’ gun as he stands on the shoulders of his buddy below. Stay tuned to CBT throughout the week for all the posters. What do you think about the first one in the bunch?

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits–Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Peter discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand – with the galaxy’s fate in the balance.
