Robert Downey Jr. Talks Iron Man 3 And Beyond

Robert Downey Jr. was at the Tribeca Film Festival on Saturday, and he spoke about Iron Man 3 and addressed a comment Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige made at CinemaCon. Feige said that he saw Iron Man living past RDJ, a new actor could come in just like the Bond films.
Speaking with MTV, Downey said in his suave joking way:
I would really hate for someone else to think they could step into my shoes. I wonder who’s playing Tony Stark next. Is it you? Is that what you’re here to tell me?
After he brushed aside the Bond comments, he stated he didn’t know how long he would be donning the armor but he is definitely interested in staying for a good while.
I know things are looking like that they could go on for a long while. As usual in my book, it’s all about quality control and delivering a product that you can have this kind of reaction to. If they keep doing that, maybe I’ll keep showing up.
Shifting to Iron Man 3, Downey had an answer when asked about the casting rumors. We’ve reported previously that Ben Kingsley, Guy Pearce, and Jessica Chastain being in “final negotiations.” He said, while not telling us if the rumors were true, that he couldn’t wait to work with “any or all of them.”
It’s funny. Sometimes you have to call for a good old-fashioned British invasion. Iron Man 3 is really shaping up to be something special. We start in a couple weeks. I’m sure I’ll be leaking secrets to you as we move ahead.
