Over the past few days Collider has been running parts of their interview with producer Dan Lin for the upcoming film Gangster Squad. The producer talked about upcoming films like Sherlock Holmes 3, Lego: Piece of Resistance, and Godzilla over the course of their chat but today he gave an update on the long gestating DC movie Suicide Squad.
Suicide Squad, adapted by the Dc Comic of the same name, has been in the works over at Warner Bros. for a few years. From what Lin says, it seems it’s still being worked on but the main focus is on the long awaited Justice League movie:
[Suicide Squad] has a script from Justin Marks, but that is on a hold right now. I think Warner Brothers wants to finish their A-list stories first and then we’ll talk about stories like Suicide Squad.
Lin also touched on another WB movie called ACME, a movie about the company that sells wacky products to customers like Wile E. Coyote. You can read the full discussion here. So it seems the film is still on hold until WB figures out what to do with Justice League and the other DC properties. Other films that are either being worked on or “on hold” include Lobo, Wonder Woman, Flash, and a rebooted Batman. What do you think? Do you think we’ll see a Suicide Squad movie anytime soon?
