Potentially Huge SPOILER For THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 Has Surfaced

Marc Webb’s sequel to his polarizing Amazing Spider-Man has been an ongoing source of speculation and rumors for some time now and of course, Sony and Webb are staying pretty quiet about it all. We’ve seen some spoilerific images that have hinted at numerous plot points and characters. Anything from Venom to the Sinister Six. Again, no confirmation on any of them. What we do know is that Sony has big plans for the franchise and is planning films all the way into 2018 and beyond. Then their’s the recently announced spin-off films they have in store that are apparently being written and planned as I type this. Well, we have one more bit of news that has surfaced today, and it is a doozy.

Before I go on, I have to issue the usual SPOILER WARNING! If you don’t want any plot points for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 spoiled for you, I suggest you stop reading now, hit the home tab and find another bit of awesome news on Comic Book Therapy!

Still with me? Excellent. It’s been speculated by some that Harry Osborn, being played by Dane DeHaan, would transform into the Goblin in this series, rather than his father, Norman Osborn, being played by Chris Cooper. There may be some truth to that rumor. Earlier today, an image of some storyboard art from the film hit the web and it shows Harry being transformed into a goblin-esque creature, leading us to believe that he’d become the Hobgoblin from the Ultimate story lines.

This is by no way confirmation, but it certainly provides some substantial evidence this is the direction they may be headed. With Electro (Jamie Foxx) and The Rhino (Paul Giamatti) confirmed for the film and Black Cat/Felicia Hardy (Felicity Jones) rumored for this film, The Lizard being a bit MIAand now this, it seems like we could be seeing an iteration of the Sinister Six being formed. Purley speculation on my part, however. Take a look at the pic below and share your thoughts. It was also announced today that we can expect the first official trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 next week, so be sure to check back!

The Amazing Spider-Man 2, stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Paul Giamatti, Dane DeHaan, Chris Cooper, Sally Field, Felicity Jones and Sarah Gadon. It’s set for a May 2, 2014 release.
