Peter Jackson Wraps Filming For Legolas In A Meme-orable Way

by

legolasFilming has been winding down for Peter Jackson‘s third Hobbit film the last few days. Yesterday Jackson posted on his official Facebook page that the last shot featuring Sir Ian McKellen as Gandalf was complete, ending an epic journey that started before the new millennium. Today Jackson posted that Orlando Bloom wrapped up his time on the set with a 12 hour shoot battling an orc as part of the Battle of the 5 Armies. Jackson and the crew, as the usually do in their behind the scenes blogs, had a bit of fun with Bloom before he departed Middle Earth for good. You can check it out below yesterday’s post about Sir Ian. The picture is below the video.

Seconds ago we finished our last shot with Gandalf. The end of an incredible adventure that began in 1999. I’m feeling very sad right now.

If you are a big Lord of the Rings fan, or just someone who spends time on the internet, you know about the meme of Legolas singing about the Hobbits traveling to Isengard. Jackson got Bloom to recreate the classic song as you can see below. Jackson and company seem to have a lot of fun on the set, and this was a pretty neat little video as part of Bloom‘s sendoff. What do you think of the remixed Taking the Hobbits to Isengard?

A day after saying goodbye to Gandalf and Tauriel, it was time to farewell Legolas. What a great day it was, with Orlando battling a serious Orc for all 12 hours of shooting – part of the Battle of the 5 Armies for the third Hobbit movie.

When we finally got the day done, we said goodbye to Orlando, had a couple of beers … and couldn’t resist doing this!
