Peter Jackson And Company Tease THE HOBBIT: THERE AND BACK AGAIN
The Desolation of Smaug doesn’t begin until Friday, but fans are already looking ahead to the third and final installment of Peter Jackson‘s Hobbit trilogy. After learning he had shot a lot of great film he didn’t want to cut, Jackson decided the best thing to do was to turn The Hobbit into three films. There And Back Again is being edited and put together as we speak, and while promoting The Desolation of Smaug, Jackson and his cast teased some things coming up. The one thing each and every person agrees on is the fact that the Battle of Five Armies is going to be epic.
Total Film got the chance to speak with Jackson, Martin Freeman, Luke Evans, Evangeline Lily and Benedict Cumberbatch about the third film. You can watch the video in its entirety below, but here’s what the directorhad to say:
It’s going to be a much more emotional film. I mean next year, the third Hobbit movie is the most emotional of the three. Everything we have established in the first two movies is going to be played out on a very grand way. The third film, again, has a lot of freedom attached to it because all you’re doing is taking every conflict and every character, every conflict you’ve established between our characters you’re now just playing out in the third movie. It’s going to be full of action. That’s for sure. Full of action and very, very emotional.
It will be hard for the Battle of Five Armies to Helm’s Deep battle, but I’m sure Jackson has put together an action-packed and expansive battle. The second film is getting good reviews, so it’s going to be a hard wait until The Hobbit: There and Back Again hits theaters December 2014. What do you think about the Hobbit crew’s comments?
