Patrick Wilson In Negotiations For Marvel’s ANT-MAN
It’s been a while since we have had some concrete casting news. That’s not with any particular studio or movie, that’s with them all. Marvel and DC have been trying to keep a lid on what their plans in the casting department. Last we had heard from either studio was the bombshell that Jesse Eisenberg and Jeremy Irons had joined Batman Vs. Superman.
Now it’s Marvel’s turn to drop some casting news. This time it comes in the form of their Ant-Man film project. We already know that Michael Douglas and Paul Rudd have joined the film as Hank Pym and Scott Lang respectively, and that Michael Pena is in talks for a pretty significant role. We also know that Evangeline Lilly is up for the female lead in the film, but her work on The Hobbit franchise may prevent her from doing it. The latest reported addition to the cast will be Patrick Wilson.
As of right now Marvel is keeping the role under wraps. However, according to The Wrap, Marvel has been looking for another charismatic leading man. Whether that charismatic leading man will be a hero or villain is another detail that has yet to be disclosed.
Director Edgar Wright is currently prepping Ant-Man to shoot this year. He along with Joe Cornish wrote the script for the movie, which in a bit of shock to some will see Scott Lang as the main character instead of Hank Pym. Make sure to check back here at Comic Book Therapy for the latest, and catch Ant-Man when it hits theaters on July 31, 2015.
