Omar Sy Jumps From Mutants To Dinosaurs And Joins JURASSIC WORLD
After taking some time off, it’s time once again to head back to the world of dinosaurs and utter chaos with Jurassic World. Details on the story are still pretty scarce, but we do know that the film will take place about 20 years after the events of Jurassic Park. Colin Trevorrow has signed on to direct the project and has already gathered an impressive cast which includes the soon-to-be hot commodity Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Vincent D’Onofrio, Ty Simpkins, Nick Robinson and Irrfan Khan. So far, the only cast member from the first film that is returning is BD Wong, who played the role of Henry Wu, one of the geneticists that help get the ball rolling in Jurassic Park.
Today, another actor has joined the film, with Omar Sy signing on. Sy will soon be known for filling the role of Bishop in Bryan Singer’s upcoming X-Men sequel Days of Future Past. He also garnered a lot of attention for his part in The Intouchables. You can check out Sy’s tweet below, along with Trevorrow’s official welcome, which translates to “Very pleased to welcome @ OmarSy Jurassic World.”. No word just yet on what role he will be playing, but it could be some time before we get too many details. The film is slated to begin shooting in the coming months. As of now, the film has a release date set for June of 2015.
