Official Synopsis For The DOCTOR WHO 50th Anniversary Special Released
We are a mere 19 days away from the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Special, The Day of The Doctor. Whovians around the world are waiting to see what Steven Moffat has in store for the big celebration. Matt Smith and David Tennant will team up to fight enemies new and old. We’ll also learn the secret behind John Hurt’s mysterious Doctor-but-not-THE Doctor. While we wait for the first real trailer for the special, the BBC have released the official synopsis:
The Doctors embark on their greatest adventure in this 50th anniversary special. In 2013, something terrible is awakening in London’s National Gallery; in 1562, a murderous plot is afoot in Elizabethan England; and somewhere in space an ancient battle reaches its devastating conclusion. All of reality is at stake as The Doctor’s own dangerous past comes back to haunt him.
We can start to figure a few things out now that the synopsis has been released. Set photos from earlier this summer seem to reveal that the fan-favorite Zygons will be appearing in the 1562 section of the story. We also know from pictures released by the BBC that the Daleks are going to play a large part in the story. From everything we’ve seen and heard about the special, it appears we will get a good look at the Time War. We know John Hurt‘s Doctor did something toward the end of the Last Great Time War, but we don’t know what. Maybe, just maybe, we’ll finally see what actually went down between the Time Lords and the Daleks after first hearing about it way back in 2005. What do you think about the synopsis? Anything jump out at you? The Day of The Doctor will debut November 23red.It’s Written by Steven Moffat, directed by Nick Hurran and stars Matt Smith, David Tennant, Jenna Coleman, Billie Piper, and John Hurt.
