Now Joseph Gordon-Levitt Laughs At Your Silly Ant-Man Rumors
Monday we heard Marvel was possibly looking at Paul Rudd and Joseph Gordon-Levitt for Edgar Wright‘s Ant-Man. Tuesday Gordon-Levitt shot down those rumors to the French press while promoting his new movie Don Jon. There were two different versions of the quotes though. One had the actor shooting them down and the other had him saying there may be some discussions going on. Well today it’s been made perfectly clear that they are just rumors.
While speaking with Total Film about Don Jon, Gordon-Levitt was asked about the “confirmation” that he was in talks for Ant-Man. The question makes the Robin to Christian Bale’s Batman laugh. You can watch the entire exchange, which only lasts a few seconds below, but the actor says:
It was confirmed? [laughs] These rumors on the internet are really nothing more than that.
He was asked if Ant-Man meant anything to him, to which he replied “Nope. It’s just a rumor.” Gordon-Levitt has been pretty straightforward about what he’s doing and what projects he’s considering. Marvel is highly secretive, but I don’t think the actor would start playing the fake denial game just for a role. I think he definitely needs to be in a Marvel film one of these days, but there may be some better characters out there for him. What do you think? Is Gordon-Levitt telling the truth or is he covering something up?
