Not To Be Outdone By Joss Whedon, Bryan Singer Announces Quicksilver For Days Of Future Past
Well that was fast. In all the news about Joss Whedon using Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch in Avengers 2, the discussion about the dual character rights between Fox and Marvel always came up. Both studios have the right to use the characters, but Marvel is more restricted because they can’t call them mutants or reveal their father is Magneto. Well Bryan Singer isn’t limited by that and he’s pleased to announce that he’s going to be using Quicksilver in Days of Future Past.
The director just Tweeted that Evan Peters will be joining the First Class kind-of-sequel as the mutant speedster. There’s even a slight Avengers jab in there. The move is clearly in response to all the headlines Whedon has been getting as of late for using Pietro Maximoff and his sister Wanda. No word on her involvement, but Fox has just flipped Marvel the bird so the other hand could toss up the signal before long. Peters is best known for his work on the TV show American Horror Story. What do you think about Fox and Singer‘s move? Who do you think will pull off the character the best, Whedon or Singer?
