New Trailer For LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Game: Plus LEGO-Themed Variant Covers On The Way
If you were looking forward to LEGO finally taking on the world of Marvel with LEGO Marvel Super Heroes, you’ll be happy to hear that Marvel are now tackling the world of LEGOS. It was announced today that Marvel will release a whole slew of LEGO-themed variant covers this September to help promote the upcoming game. IGN had the first look at some of the covers.
21 Marvel titles will have LEGO variant covers that pay homage to some of the classic comic book covers over the years. You can see the first few covers like the iconic Jim Steranko Hulk, one of the many classic Wolverine covers, and a more modern but sure to be classic cover to Hawkeye below. Marvel SVP of Sales, Print and Digital David Gabriel talked about the homage covers:
Working with the folks at The LEGO Group to do these homage covers is an absolute blast! As soon as we came up with the concept of doing the covers, I couldn’t wait to get an idea off the ground that really does justice to both the Marvel heroes and the LEGO brand. This program is the best blend of both worlds and we know it will really excite our fans and hope that Lego fans also find their way into comic shops to pick these up!
The full list of comics with LEGO covers include: Hulk #14, Hawkeye #15, X-Men #5, All-New X-Men #17, Avengers #21, Avengers A.I. #4, Captain America #12, Daredevil #31, Fantastic Four #13, Guardians of the Galaxy #7, Infinity #3, Iron Man #17, Marvel Universe: Avengers Assemble #1, Mighty Avengers #1, Nova #8, New Avengers #11, Secret Avengers #10, Superior Spider-Man #19, Thor: God of Thunder #14, Uncanny Avengers #12, and Wolverine & The X-Men #36.
And below the covers you can check out the newest trailer for the video game. It was released at E3 and features a great look at some of the story as well as a few of the playable characters. We also get to hear a few of the little LEGO heroes voices. What do you think about the LEGO covers?
