New Spoilerish Details on The Winter Soldier, Guardians of the Galaxy and Big Hero 6
Before I get into too much detail here, let me issue the usual SPOILER ALERT! There are some bits of news listed below that some may find to be of the spoilerish nature, so just know that you’ve been warned! The folks over at JoBlo have released some new information in regards to several Disney and Marvel films that are all in some phase of production. The three that concern us are Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Guardians of the Galaxy and the first animated flick from the Marvel & Disney team, Big Hero 6. Here’s a run-down of the news we have today. Keep in mind, these are rumors at this point and in no way confirmed.
Starting things off is news regarding the anticipated to the Chris Evans led Captain America sequel. According to the site’s sources, the film will essentially be a direct sequel to last year’s mega hit The Avengers and will play the biggest part in leading up to that film’s sequel. We’ve seen quite a bit of Scarlett Johansson on the set of The Winter Soldier, which we knew she’d have a large role in. But how large you ask? The site goes on to say that The Winter Soldier will delve more into Black Widow’s history and gadgetry, which we have yet to see explored in her appearances in Iron Man 2 and of course, The Avengers. We may be seeing some of that red that appears on her ledger.
Next up, the site discusses Guardians of the Galaxy, which heads into production in the coming weeks. The source claims that Ronan the Accuser will indeed be the main baddie of the film. But, they also say that Thanos, who made his first appearance in the mid-credits scene of The Avengers, will also play a large role in the upcoming space adventure. In regards to the film’s locations, we can expect to see Knowhere, the group’s main center of operations. For those not keen on the ins and outs of the Guardians, Knowhere is a space station that has the capabilities of teleporting anywhere within the universe. For those wondering if any of the characters from previous Marvel films will make an appearance in Guardians, don’t hold your breath, as according to the source, this won’t be happening. However, the film will definitely take place in the same time and/or universe as the other Marvel films, which is what we expected.
Finally, we have a few tid-bits on Marvel/Disney’s first venture in animated features, Big Hero 6, mostly dealing with which characters will be included in the film. The source says that Hiro Hamada will be the lead character and will be joined by Wasabi No Ginger, Honey Lemon, Fred, and Baymax. The group will join together to stop Hiro’s invention, called “swarm microbots” which fall into the wrong hands. In addition, one of the plot’s key details is that Hiro’s brother was killed in a mysterious accident. Not a ton of information there, but it’s a start.
As with any scoop like this, it’s always a good idea to take the info with a grain of salt. Should the info prove to be true, it will be some impressive details to have. With Black Widow, it may be our opportunity to get a bit of back story on a character that we haven’t learned too much about, aside from a few hints and such. We’ll be sure to keep you updated on this news should more come a long. What are your thoughts on the news? Do you want more history on Widow? What about Ronan being the main baddie rather than Thanos? Sound off below!
