New Set Pics From The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Reveal Something Sinister

by

Filming for Marc Webb’s sequel to The Amazing Spider-Man wrapped things up last month and the crew is now working on post-production, getting all the bits and pieces together to form what is hopefully a great film. To help keep people excited and interested, Sony has dropped nine new images from the film, highlighting some of the newer characters in the film. There are a few showing an enraged Paul Giamatti, Jamie Foxx’s Max Dillon getting a stern talking to by Spider-Man, as well as our favorite comic creator, Stan “The Man” Lee.

Oh, there’s also that pic that is advertising the Sinister 6 as well. This is really the first time we’ve really seen anyone essentially confirm that the powerful group of super-villains is the end-game for this film franchise. We’ve speculated for months now, but this seems to all but confirm it. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Dane DeHaan, Chris Cooper, Paul Giamatti and Sally Field.  The film releases May 2, 2014. Here’s an official plot synopsis for you:

In The Amazing Spider-Man 2, for Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), life is busy – between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen (Emma Stone), high school graduation can’t come quickly enough. Peter hasn’t forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen’s father to protect her by staying away – but that’s a promise he just can’t keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro (Jamie Foxx), emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past.
