New Report Confirms Tatooine For STAR WARS EPISODE VII
When J.J. Abrams was announced as the director of the newest Star Wars movie, people knew that the project would be shrouded in secrecy. Updates would be very few and far between on the project that still hasn’t confirmed all but one cast member. Sure, there are rumors that a bunch of the actors from the original trilogy are returning, but there has been no great deal of concrete reporting on the project. There was a rumor circulating around as well that said the film would be revisiting Luke’s home planet of Tatoonie, but it was never disclosed what it was for.
It looks as if that rumor had some legs. The Hollywood Reporter did some checking with their sources and have confirmed that Episode VII will indeed be filming in Morocco-like environment. There sources also say that there will be an extensive re-creation of the planet in the setting, but it’s not known whether it’s Mos Eisley or Luke’s home.
As of right now this is the only confirmed filming location for the movie other than London. The only actor, like mentioned above, that has really been confirmed for the movie is Peter Mayhew as Han Solo’s loveable sidekick Chewbacca.
