New GODZILLA Stills And Viral Videos Released Ahead Of Tomorrow’s Trailer

godzilla bannerThe first official trailer for Gareth Edward‘s Godzilla reboot will hit tomorrow morning. The Comic Con trailer from two years ago leaked out and a brief second trailer snippet found its way online a few months ago, but this will be our first officially sanctioned look at the return of the King of Monsters. Ahead of tomorrow’s big trailer debut a few new stills from the film and a slew of viral videos have been released.

The other day a viral marketing site for the film was launched called MutoResearch.Net. The mysterious site has a few teaser videos for the film and the mysterious holes and monster sightings across the world. The videos borrow a page from the Man of Steel Zod videos, but they give us our first quick, quick look at Bryan Cranston. You can check out those out below.

USA Today unveiled a few new stills with Cranston and Avenger‘s Quicksilver, Aaron Taylor-Johnson. The site also had a few words from the film’s director. Next year will be the 60th anniversary since the atomic-powered reptile smashed onto the silver screen. Edwards mentions that his reboot will harken back to the 1954 original in terms of the look and theme of the story. This origin story will have a nuclear them and a cast of humans who have to deal with the global threat Godzilla and another monster (or monsters) pose. Said Edwards of the film’s titular character:

It was such a shot in the arm to see your star. It was like knowing you were pregnant vs. seeing the ultrasound. I suddenly remembered I was making this iconic movie.
To me, he’s like a force of nature, like the wrath of God or vengeance for the way we’ve behaved. If this really happened, it would be like Sept. 11. I want it to be epic. I want to get the hairs on the back of your neck up.

Tomorrow we will get to see a brief teaser of all the damage that will be unleashed next year. The film stars Bryan Cranston as a scientist, Aaron Taylor-Johnson as a soldier, and Elizabeth Olsen as a nurse and wife of Taylor-Johnson‘s character. We’ll have the trailer for you as soon as it hits tomorrow. What do you think about the first wave of Godzilla goodies? Are you ready for the trailer?
