New Clip And Photos From THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2’s New Year’s Eve Takeover Of Times Square
Spider-Man was named New York’s official hero of Times Square for 2014. There is still no word on who the official heroes were for the other 2,013 years, but that’s neither here nor there. Spidey and director Marc Webb took over Times Square about an hour before the big ball dropped. After talking for a little bit and playing to the hundreds of thousands of people huddled together to ring in the new year, a brand new clip was shown on the jumbo trons. What better way to celebrate being in Times Square than showing the villain of your movie attacking the place? Jamie Foxx‘s Electro was the star of the show in the special extended clip. You can check it out with a Stan Lee introduction below. You can also take a peek at some pictures the official Spider-Man Twitter page posted during the festivities. What do you think about the new clip? The Amazing Spider-Man 2 swings into theaters May 2, 2014.
It’s great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there’s no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: OsCorp.
