New AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 Poster Tries To Pay Homage To A Classic Comic Book Cover
No new TV spot, trailer, or clip today, but the official Twitter account of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 has released a new retro style poster that tries to pay respect to a classic comic book cover. The oddly photoshopped poster below is a riff on the iconic cover from Spider-Man #121 by John Romita Sr. While they use different characters (with recycled images) and quotes, it’s hinting at the major turning point coming up for our web-slinger. Could that mean we’ll see Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone) suffering the same fate as her comic book counterpart? It seems likely considering what director Marc Webb and company have been saying. What do you think about the homage poster?
It’s great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there’s no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: OsCorp.
