NBC Finds Its CONSTANTINE In Matt Ryan
We’ve only heard a few little tidbits about the Constantine TV show the last few months, but now the NBC series has found the actor that will bring the chain-smoking detective of the dark arts, John Constantine, to life. Deadline is reporting that Welsh actor Matt Ryan (voice of Edward Kenway in Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag) has landed the role of the former Hellblazer.
Ryan has secured lead role in NBC‘s new series based on the fan-favorite DC and Vertigo character John Constantine, a con-man turned supernatural detective who occasionally has to defend humanity from dark forces and other things that go bump in the night. Unlike the film starring Keanu Reeves, Ryan will be sporting an accent and a blonde hairdo. The pilot episode is written by Daniel Cerone from a story by him and Warner Bros./DC super scribe David Goyer. Constantine will begin filming later this year and could possibly debut this fall. With our lead now chosen, hopefully we hear about some other casting decisions soon. What do you think about Ryan taking on the big role? Are you glad to see DC on a roll with their TV shows?
