More Info On Scott Snyder And Sean Murphy’s THE WAKE

the wake bannerScott Snyder has been a pretty busy guy lately. He’s writing a pretty impressive Joker story with Batman: Death of the Family, he’s wrapped up his highly acclaimed run on Swamp Thing, and he’s gearing up for a Superman book with artist Jim Lee. If that wasn’t enough, the writer will be adding a new 10-issue miniseries with Sean Murphy (Punk Rock Jesus) for Vertigo. The Wake has been pretty secretive so far, but today MTV Geek got their hands on a synopsis and the cover to the first issue.

When Marine Biologist Lee Archer is approached by the Department of Homeland Security for help with a new threat, she declines, but quickly realizes they won’t take no for an answer. Soon she is plunging to the depths of the Arctic Circle to a secret, underwater oil rig where they’ve discovered something miraculous and terrifying…

Writer Scott Snyder and artist Sean Murphy bring their acclaimed talents to this sic-fi epic that explores the horrors of the deep, probes the origins of human history, and leaps far beyond to a frightening future.

The chance of seeing Snyder and Murphy teaming up for a sci-fi epic exploring horrors of the deep and the origins of human history sounds pretty exciting. Both Snyder and Murphy have been putting out some very impressive work lately. It will be interesting to see what the duo bring for The Wake. We’ll have to wait until May 1st to see what’s in store. What do you think?

I'm a comic book and movie nerd who loves to share news I find interesting and hope you do as well. I'm a big Doctor Who fan and sci-fi in general. My favorite comic characters you ask? Well Thor, Wolverine, and Daredevil.
