Monkey With A Shotgun: New DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES Pics
The last we’ve seen of Dawn of the Planet of the Apes was a rather stunning TV spot during the season finale of The Walking Dead. Today that drought is ended as USA Today rains down 10 new images from the Matt Reeves directed sequel to 2011’s smash-hit Rise of the Planet of the Apes. Along with the new images, featuring an amazing shot of a monkey with a shotgun, comes a few words from the director himself about the upcoming film.
Speaking with the site, Reeves teases the the fun parts of the sequel’s story. He says, “We’ve got apes on horses! There is a sense in the beginning of the movie that apes have inherited the Earth. You see the species as it takes dominion over the planet. It’s an ape-world. That’s the fun of it.” There will also be a band of humans led by Gary Oldman, Jason Clarke, and Keri Russell who are trying to come back from the devastating virus unleashed by Caesar. Reeves teases that section of the story:
The small group of humans are struggling to come back from devastation, and the apes are fighting for survival. The big question is, can they co-exist? We all know it doesn’t become Planet of Humans and Apes. It becomes Planet of the Apes. But this is that one moment of time where there is hope for humans.
