Ming-Na Wen Teases Her Role In Marvel’s Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.
We’re several months away from seeing the pilot to ABC and Marvel’s Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. series written and directed by one Joss Whedon. Over the past few weeks we have started to hear a little more about the show from the cast and crew since they’ve been hitting the red carpet a lot more recently. While the show is still shrouded in J.J. Abrams level of secrecy, we are getting a few details about some of the show’s characters. SFX caught up with Ming-Na Wen at the Saturn Awards to talk about her character, Agent Melinda May.
Agent Melinda May appears to be quite the butt kicker from all the teasers and trailers we’ve seen for the show so far. Ming-Na Wen will be playing an Agent who is almost as big of a legend as Agent Coulson. She couldn’t say much about what her role entails, as you can see in the full interview below, but here’s what she had to say about the character:
Her name is Agent Melinda May. I think she definitely honors her job and takes it very seriously. She has a lot of skills to reach Level 7. From what I gather, she has some damage. She’s a damaged solider. I think she’s definitely one of the more seasoned, experienced agent in this particular crew.
Watch the full video to hear the actress talk about what it’s like working with Joss Whedon and whether or not she knows if some of the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. cast could pop up in the Marvel movie universe. What do you think about Ming-Na Wen‘s comments? Are you getting excited for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.?
