Ming-Na Wen Praises Joss Whedon And The S.H.I.E.L.D. Show
Ming-Na Wen will be playing Agent Melinda May in the upcoming Marvel S.H.I.E.L.D. show from Marvel Cinematic godfather Joss Whedon. The actress talked to AMC Theaters about her audition process and how big a fan she is of Joss Whedon.
Wen is beyond excited to join the show. While she didn’t say much about the audition process, she did state that Whedon was there for it. To prepare for the role the actress didn’t read many comics, but she did fully immerse herself into the Whedonverse. Whedon has a very unique style with his television shows, so expect S.H.I.E.L.D. to follow that. I’m not too sure what the last part of her statement means. She says Whedon doesn’t base it on the comics, and more “his own thing with Stan Lee.” While fans would love to see Stan Lee pop up on the show from time to time, I’m sure she just means the show will capture the feeling of The Avengers movie. What do you think?
