Melissa Rosenberg Overseeing Marvel’s JESSICA JONES Netflix Series
Hot off the heels of the announcement earlier today that Drew Goddard would be taking on the writing duties for the Daredevil series (click here for that), it has been revealed that Melissa Rosenberg will be writing and executive producing the Jessica Jones Netflix series according to Deadline.
Rosenberg was involved with the series based on the comic book heroine three years ago when it was being worked on at ABC, but apparently Marvel still liked the vision she had for the character. Rosenberg is best known for writing the movies Step Up and the Twilight Saga, but let’s not hold that against her since her TV work is much more impressive. She penned episodes for Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, Boston Public, BIrds of Prey, and Dexter. Two of Marvel‘s four Netflix series have writers in place now, so hopefully we will hear about Iron Fist and Luke Cage very soon. I would guess all four series’ writers would be involved with the Defenders crossover miniseries coming after the four standalone shows but only time will tell. What do you think about Rosenberg being in charge?
