Matt Gerald Signs Up For ANT-MAN In A Villainous Role
Captain America: The Winter Soldier has been unleashed, Guardians of the Galaxy is being edited, and Avengers: Age of Ultron is being filmed right now, so it’s time for Marvel to begin focusing on the film that will launch Phase Three: Ant-Man. Edgar Wright‘s long-gestating film will begin work in Atlanta in just a few short months, so the remaining members of the cast need to start falling into place. So far the only members we know for sure are Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas, and Patrick Wilson, with Michael Pena and Evangeline Lilly all but officially confirmed. Tonight we may be able to add another name to the list.
Deadline is reporting that Matt Gerald (Avatar, Dexter) has joined the cast of Wright‘s film in an unspecified villain role. Michael Pena is said to be a villain too, though there is some debate whether he would be a villain from the past or the main threat Rudd faces. Regardless, Gerald will be a baddie as well. The actor had a very minor role in the recently released Mandarin one-shot as a fellow prison inmate, so his time on set may have helped open some more Marvel doors. Hopefully we’ll hear more about the role soon. What do you think about another name being added to the Ant-Man list?
