Matt Damon Denies The JUSTICE LEAGUE/AQUAMAN Rumors
With news that Warner Brothers is jumping on the superhero team up bandwagon dropping early this week, fans and journalist have been in a rush to cast the members of Justice League. We know The Rock is attached to a DC movie, but there has been speculation that his movie may not even be connected to the shared universe at all. Another name is Matt Damon. People have been floating around the rumor that Damon could be joining his good friend Ben Affleck (Batman) in the Justice League as Aquaman.
Damon has been part of an initiative to bring clean water to third world countries and he chatted with CNBC about the cause. During the interview he was asked about the rumors of him playing Aquaman, and how it could be a good thing to shed light on the issue. “Since they made Ben Batman, I’ve been showing up at his house every day dressed as Robin,” he laughed, “but my little campaign I don’t think has gone so well. So far, I haven’t been contacted by anyone to be in the movie.” When pressed a little further about the possibility of the role bringing attention to the cause Damon replied, “I’m open to being in any good movie, as always. It might be a bit of stretch, but, if dressing up in yellow tights somehow moved the needle for this issue, I would be willing to do that. I’ve done sillier stuff.”
Based on the sounds of things, those of you who want to see Damon as The King Of Atlantis may be disappointed. However, like most comic book movies secrecy and deceit is the name of the game. Check out the video below and check back here at Comic Book Therapy on Justice League and Aquaman.
