Marvel To Republish MIRACLEMAN: Neil Gaiman’s Final Issue Will Be Published
Big news coming out of the Cup O’ Joe panel at New York Comic Con. It was announced that Marvel will be reprinting issues #1-24 of the classic Miracleman series and Neil Gaiman‘s unprinted final issue will finally see the light of day. The rights for Miracleman/Marvelman have been in dispute for years, with Marvel gaining the rights several years ago. Due to the agreement there’s no mention of Alan Moore, but Gaiman was brought on to make the announcement via video. CBR had the quotes from the panel:
“Miracleman #25 has been sitting in the darkness, nobody’s seen it…I love the idea that it’s finally going to be seen,” Gaiman said, calling it the “big incomplete book of my life,” and announcing Marvel’s intention to bring the material back into print.
Quesada told the cheering audience that in January 2014 they will be printing the “Miracleman” material and Gaiman’s end to the story.
The only other thing shown off relating to Miracleman during the panel was the teaser image above. CBR posted a look at Quesada‘s cover for Gaiman‘s issue shortly after the announcement. It’s a more sinister take of an iconic Miracleman image. We’ll have a full rundown for all of Marvel‘s comic book announcements later this evening. What do you think about Gaiman‘s Miracleman finally being published? Would you call it a…miracle?
