MARVEL STUDIOS Looking To Summon Jon Spaihts To Write The DOCTOR STRANGE Script
The Doctor Strange news doesn’t end with some teaser-y statements from director Scott Derrickson (which you can read here), Deadline is reporting that Marvel Studios is negotiating with writer Jon Spaihts to come in and pen the new script for the Sorcerer Supreme‘s movie outing. According to the site, and Spaihts own Twitter account, things are pretty serious.
The site says that Spaihts is the guy Marvel wants to write the script for the movie that will launch a new franchise. The writer is currently working on Universal Studio‘s The Mummy reboot and two other films tentatively titled The Darkest Hour and The Black Hole. Spaihts is probably best known for being the first writer to come in and attempt a script for Prometheus. Deadline states that Marvel is looking to get the script in and put the film on the fast track to production. With Derrickson locked in to direct, casting is probably well underway. Tom Hardy, Benedict Cumberbatch and Jared Leto are rumored to be on the shortlist for Stephen Strange. What do you think about the latest Strange news? Are you happy to hear Kevin Feige‘s pet project is finally starting to materialize?
Doctor Strange was always my favorite Marvel hero. It's a good day. http://t.co/1hInjPWnbQ
