Mark Wahlberg Is Glad He Wasn’t Robin, But He Would Like To Be Tony Stark
Mark Wahlberg will be starring in Transformers 4 (which is technically a comic book movie) but the actor hasn’t played a real superhero yet. Yahoo! Movies raised the question when they got the chance to speak with Wahlberg about his new film Two Guns (also a comic book movie). What he said may surprise a few people.
When asked if he’d ever want to don some tights and join up with a superhero movie sometime in the future, the actor said he didn’t want to wear any tights but he’d be up for the role if it was the right one for him. Whalber joked about a brush he had with superhero flicks saying he “dodged a bullet” by not being Robin in the absolutely atrocious Batman Forever. While Wahlberg said he would be open to the idea, he did say that he “kind of likes playing real people” so he has never been asked about being in a big comic book movie. He mentions that Ted kind of blew his “real people” argument up, so he’s open to anything really. He does mention one particular superhero though. Wahlberg mentions that he would like to take over the Iron Man franchise from Robert Downey Jr. after he hangs up the suit. What do you think about Wahlberg being the next Tony Stark? Can you think of a more fitting superhero for him?
