Mark Millar Takes A Shot At Jim Carrey For His Kick-Ass 2 Comments
Back toward the end of June, Jim Carrey took to Twitter to pull his support from Kick-Ass 2 (click here for a refresher). The actor, playing Justice Forever leader Colonel Stars and Stripes, stole the show in every trailer for the film that has been released. Carrey Tweeted several messages revealing he had a change of heart and could not support the violent movie. His main beef was with the gun violence, but he took issue with the violence as a whole. The actor hasn’t done any press for the film and was noticeably absent from any appearances or panels for the Jeff Wadlow directed sequel. Mark Millar was pretty vocal on Twitter about Carrey‘s newly found views, but today he took another shot at the actor on his Twitter.
Millar still sports a photo of Jim Carrey in Kick-Ass‘s costume alongside a Superman clad Conan O’Brien, but he’s had a few things to say about Carrey over the last few months. Today he sent out the Twit pic you see below which takes out Colonel Stars and Stripes trademark bat and inserts a bouquet of flowers. Kick-Ass 2 rode a giant wave of mostly positive promotion after Carrey made his statement withdrawing his support of the film, so it’s a pretty good tactic to bring that up every once in a while. The actor hasn’t responded, and I don’t really expect him to either. What do you think about the humorous little jab at Carrey? Kick-Ass 2 hits theaters August 16th.
Finally, we have a Kick-Ass 2 image that’s been endorsed by Mister Jim Carrey: pic.twitter.com/5nuPcjTTcP
