How MAN OF STEEL Reshaped The GODZILLA Reboot
Looking at the surface, Man Of Steel doesn’t have too much in common with the Godzilla reboot. Oh sure they both feature larger than life characters and were produced by Warner Brothers and Legendary Pictures, but really that’s where the similarities end.
But would you believe that Man of Steel is has had an impact on how Legendary and Warner Brothers are bringing the world’s most famous monster to the big screen? According to the new book, Godzilla: The Art Of Destruction, that is very much what happened. Originally when the world first stumbles on to Godzilla it would have been “a carcass that was to have been entombed in Siberia.” However, due to Man Of Steels similar plot when Superman finds the old Kryptonian scout ship encased in ice up in the arctic, the idea was scrapped.
Not only was there the idea for the Godzilla on ice, but there was concept renderings done as well. You can check that concept are out below, as well as follow the source link to check out some more images and art from the book. Catch Godzilla when it hits theaters on May 16th later this year, and check back here at Comic Book Therapy for the latest on the film.
