Man Of Steel Will Inspire Other Heroes To Step Up And Come Forward Says David Goyer
While all the question surrounding Justice League have been more geared towards if it will happen, a new question has popped up. How will Man Of Steel influence Justice League to come about? The folks over at Bleeding Cool asked screen writer David Goyer that very question while chatting with him. His response, while very simplistic, was actually quite intelligent.
“It is our intention that, in success, this would be the zero issue and from this point onward, possible films could expand into a shared universe. In our world, the Man of Steel world, Zack has gone on record saying that we’re implying there are other superheroes in this world. But I don’t know that they’ve come forward yet. The idea is that Superman is the first one. There might be people helping people, but not in costumes, and that Superman comes forward and announces himself to the world. In him announcing himself, he’s the one that changes things.”
So based on Goyer’s answer not only will Superman use his S shield as a symbol of hope for people, it will be a symbol of hope for other heroes in hiding. With Warner Brothers looking at possibly doing both Wonder Woman and Aquaman movies, it will be interesting to see how characters like that who come from royalty will respond. On the filp side we get to look forward to how characters such as Batman and The Flash respond to seeing Big Blue putting him self out there to save the world. Regardless, the next couple of years should be really fun if you like seeing DC heroes on the big screen.
