Man Of Actions Say Avengers Assemble Will Continue On From Earth’s Mightiest Heroes

Man of Action is the creative super group that brought us Ben 10 and all its various incarnations. They are also responsible for some of Marvel’s animated series, such as Ultimate Spider-Man and the upcoming Avengers Assemble. You may remember Assemble was met with fan rage when it was discovered that the show would replace the extremely popular Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. Since then, news has come out that the show would be a continuation of sorts from EMH instead of a brand new show with its own continuity. At New York Comic Con Man of Action talked a little about Avengers Assemble in their panel.

Avengers Assemble has been said to be influenced by The Avengers movie, and Marvel had batted around the idea of using the movie’s stars as the voice cast. While that didn’t happen, much of the visual and animation style plays off the Whedon flick. The voice cast for Assembles was posted a few days ago, and you can check that out by clicking here. Man of Action addressed this, as transcribed from ToonZone:

It will continue much of what the movie started, it’ll be slightly different from Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. It’s really going to focus on the core characters… but it is not some kind of drastic change from Earth’s Mightiest Heroes into Marvel’s Avengers Assemble. Everything that’s established in [Earth’s Mightiest Heroes] and just running from that point on. It’s like Bendis’ Avengers going into Marvel NOW! Avengers… Everything that happened in Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, we’re going to keep consistency from that, to the new show. Marvel, with the success of the movie, is really focused in on this show, making sure that everything in it is top-notch. It’s really going to be a remarkably different type of animation than what you’ve seen earlier coming out of any Marvel property.

It seems like they danced around EMH being a straight on continuation, it does seem like it may have some degree of carryover. While I (and many others) hate to see Earth’s Mightiest discontinued as it were, it will be interesting to see how much, if any, of that show bleeds into Assemble. The show’s new members were announced and included Falcon, and it wasn’t too long afterwards that Falcon was announced for Captain America: The Winter Soldier. I wonder if the show has more in common with the movies than we though?

Hope that’s true. Still think it was a nut job idea to cancel EMH.
