Louise Simonson To Write IDW’s Gigantic CARTOON NETWORK Crossover ‘Super Secret Crisis War!’
IDW has been successful with their new line of comics based on beloved Cartoon Network characters these last few months, but now they’re bringing everyone together for a gigantic crossover written by legendary comics writer Louise Simonson. The publisher made the announcement today that worlds will collide in a new six-issue event called Super Secret Crisis War!
This June the all-ages “mega-colossal” crossover featuring Samurai Jack, Dexter, Ben 10, the Powerpuff Girls, and Ed, Edd, and Eddy facing off against Aku, Vilgax, Mandark, and Mojo Jojo will begin. Joining Simonson will be artist Derek Charm. Charm will also handle covers with Tony Little, and Katie Cook providing variants. Simonson said of the event “I love writing group books! So obviously, Super Secret Crisis War! is my dream job! Even researching the series is fun—who doesn’t love watching cartoons!? Especially excellent, award-winning cartoon series like Samurai Jack, Ben 10, Powerpuff Girls, Dexter’s Laboratory, and Ed, Edd, & Eddy. But the very best part is seeing the art and design so beautifully realized by the wonderful Derek Charm. Fun characters, great artist, and a really fine editorial team at IDW!“
But that’s not all! It was also announced that a series of one-shots that tie into the event will launch. Those titles include Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends, Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy, Johnny Bravo, Codename: Kids Next Door, and Cow and Chicken. Those will be written by Ivan Cohen, Kate Leth, Erik Burnham, Scott Peterson, and Jim Zub, respectively. You can check out the special cover for Super Secret Crisis War! below. Will you be checking this one out?
