Looks Like SPIDER-MAN 2099 Is Getting His Own Series
Ever since Dan Slott brought Miguel O’Hara to the present day of the 616 universe fans have been speculating that Spider-Man 2099 would be getting his own series. Slott set the character up with a new job and a supporting cast of sorts in Superior Spider-Man, so it did seem extremely likely that the character would branch off on his own. Well now it seems that the Mr. O’Hara is indeed getting his own title.
In today’s letter column for Superior Spider-Man, outgoing editor Stephen Wacker wrote a final goodbye that talked about the importance of comic book letter columns. It was there that Wacker teased a Spider-Man 2099 book that new editor Ellie Pyle would be putting together. This seems to confirm a new title unless Wacker is playing his cruelest joke yet. He’s a notorious prankster, but this seems to be a legitimate bit of news. There have been rumors that Spider-Man 2099 creator Peter David would be working on the title with artist Simone Bianchi. David has shot that rumor down on his Twitter, but only time will tell who writes the new series. It’s probably safe to say that one is coming though. What do you think about the Spider-Man 2099 news?
