Local Comic Book Store Holds Auction To Benefit Homeless Kids!

Inspired by the heroes featured in the books they collect, local superhero fans set out to make a positive difference in their community. Heroes and Villains strives to live up to the first half of their name every October by auctioning off rare comics and pop culture collectibles to benefit Tucson’s Open Inn–a local charity dedicated to providing assistance Tucson’s homeless youth, and their families.
While Heroes and Villains itself donates high-end items such as 1-in-100 variant cover comic books and hard-to-find, limited edition action figures–the quirkier pieces are donated by the store’s ecclectic customer base.
Buzz-generating items up for auction this year include: a life-size Darth Vader helmet, a U.S.S. Enterprise telephone, signed prints by Alex Ross, John Romita and Dan Jurgens, and two walls’ worth of action figures, comics, games and apparel.
Heroes and Villains’ Charity Auction runs from 10am on October 7th until 4pm on October 30th. 100% of the profits from the auction go to Tucson’s Open Inn.
