LETTER 44 TV Series May Be In The Works
Your television may be getting a little bit more comic booky and conspiracyier. Letter 44 from Oni Press is being eyed as a potential basis for a new television series. According to Bleeding Cool, there is at least one US television network in negotiations to adapt the series, with a “major show runner and director” attached. That’s a pretty serious development if they’ve already got a big name to bring it to life.
For those not familiar with the concept of this relatively new series, Letter 44 centers on a secret conspiracy withing the US Government and NASA that has launched a program to be the first to reach out and contact what is thought to be an alien race. The comic’s name is derived from the letter that the out-going President leaves for his successor. This letter brings the newly appointed President up to speed on the program. It is written by Charles Soule and Alberto Alburquerque.
Admittedly, I’ve never read the comic, but has a very interesting premise that could lend itself to a television series very well. We’ll be sure to keep an eye on this one for you as it seems it has some pretty good legs and a ton of potential.
