Is Lawrence Kasdan’s STAR WARS Spin-Off A BOBA FETT Movie?

by

boba fettWe know that Disney are currently working on two spin-off films to fill the gaps between the release of the new trilogy J.J. Abrams is kick starting. What we don’t know is what those two spin-off films will be. The popular opinion is that they will either be about Han Solo, Yoda, or Boba Fett. The Mandalorian bounty hunter has been mentioned several times, so it seems like he is the most likely candidate for a spin-off. In a recent interview someone revealed that he is indeed getting his own movie and that Lawrence Kasdan is writing it.

In an interview with AMC Movie talk (via Yahoo), director Jon Schnepp (Adult Swim‘s Metalocalypse) claims that a Fett film is happening. He said “One of them is Boba Fett. It is. I know. I know for a fact. I will never reveal my source, but it is the one written by Lawrence Kasdan.” Now we have to take this rumor with the necessary salt considering Schnepp wouldn’t even hint as to who or what his source is.

Kasdan is involved as a writer and producer for the new trilogy and an untitled spin-off, so it’s really up in the air as of know what he’ll be tackling in the solo movie. Boba Fett is one of the most popular characters in Star Wars, appearing in cartoons and other adventures of the further Star Wars universe. It’s a little odd considering he had few lines and had a very anti-climatic and rather wimpy death. Kasdan was actually involved in his creation, so it makes since that he would be joining back up with the bounty hunter again for Disney‘s new Star Wars universe. What do you think? do you hope Boba gets his own movie or would you rather see someone else get the spotlight?
