Latest Trailer For DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES Teases An Impending War
In the world of reboots and remakes, there are very few that are actually worth your time watching. Most go so far away from the original, it may as well be called an original film. But there is one film that took many people by surprise, both critics and average movie-goers alike. In 2011, Rupert Wyatt brought us a unique and stunning prequel to the Planet of the Apes franchise. The film expolored the origins of the famed sci-fi film and took a really cool approach to the whole virus that brought the beginning of the fall of humans and the rise of the apes. For this year’s sequel, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Matt Reeves, best known for his vampire film Let Me In, took the reigns on the project and it looks to be quite the film.
In this follow-up, Caesar, played by mo-cap master Andy Serkis, has taken his group to the forests surrounding San Francisco. Meanwhile, human kind is brought to its knees by the simian virus. The two factions soon become intertwined in a pending battle that will culminate in a war. The latest trailer offers up a ton of new footage, including Caesar showing off his vocal skills.
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes stars Gary Oldman, Andy Serkis, Jason Clarke, Keri Russell, Toby Kebbell and Kodi Smit-McPhee. The film will hit theaters July 11. Check out the newest trailer below and let us know what you think!
