Latest Iron Man: Rise of Technovore Trailer Gives Better Look at Black Widow, Hawkeye & Punisher

Of course, we can’t wait to see Robert Downey Jr. and crew return for the third installment in Marvel’s Iron Man franchise, which is just a few short weeks away. But next month, we get another Iron Man film in the form of an animated feature, Iron Man: Rise of Technovore. This film takes a bit of a different approach in that it is done in the style of anime. It’s been some time since we’ve seen an animated feature from Marvel, mainly because they’ve been concentrating on the several new cartoons for television. Here’s a synopsis of the film:

The young and insane tech genius Ezekiel Stane has developed a new techno-organic armor that seemingly outclasses Iron Man. When Stane unleashes a terrorist attack during the launch of Tony Stark’s newest satellite, Iron Man is blamed. Now he must evade S.H.I.E.L.D.’s man hunt and find a way to clear his name.

The film features some familiar faces, including Black Widow, Hawkeye, War Machine and Nick Fury. Oh, and the Punisher also shows up and is voiced by none other than The Walking Dead’s very own lethal redneck Norman Reedus (am I the only one giddy over this casting choice?).  Matthew Mercer and Clare Grant provide the voices for Iron Man and Black Widow, respectively.

Oh, there is no reason given for the lack of dialogue on the trailer, but we can assume that the voice over work may not be complete or done to a level of high quality. So for now, enjoy some dramatic music and exploding stuff.

Like mentioned by the author above the lack of dialogue in the trailer worries me. I’ve seen enough animated films/shows to know that a lot of the time when companies have the animation done overseas the dialogue doesn’t match up well, and no matter how good the story may be (and how good the voice actors/actresses may be) the show can be ruined by poor dialogue. Hopefully they’re hiding the dialogue to help keep the story a secret, and not because the quality is low. (However I fear the worst).
