The Latest DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES Poster Is Quite Epic

by

In the world of remakes and reboots, there are few movies that have proven to be a success and not just at the box office, as some rather crappy re-dos have made some decent money. There are some films that have been both a critical success in addition to bringing in the big money. One of the better ones would have to be Rise of the Planet of the Apes, which was directed by Rupert Wyatt. The film documented the origins of the ape civilization as well as the beginning of the fall of the humans. Naturally, a sequel was commissioned, this time with Matt Reeves in the director’s chair. An all new cast was assembled as well.

This time around, the apes have created their own, small civilization and wish to live in peace. But the humans won’t have that. A battle will ensue to determine the dominate species. The latest poster for the film is really quite epic. Caesar has taken to horseback and is clutching his gun, showing his leadership to his horde of apes that will die to protect them selves. The film has had some pretty awesome posters anyway, but this one takes the cake in my book. Gary Oldman, Jason Clarke, Keri Russell, Kodi Smit-McPhee and Andy Serkis star in the sequel, which will hit theaters July 11th.

A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth’s dominant species.
