UPDATE: Kevin Smith has Seen The Batsuit For BATMAN VS SUPERMAN; Says It Blew His Mind
As if you weren’t already jealous of all the cool things Kevin Smith has access to! On Saturday Smith hosted the Man Of Steel blu-ray event that feature Zack Snyder, Amy Adams, and Henry Cavill with a little bit of Michael Shannon thrown in there. There was expected to be some Batman vs. Superman talk during the event, although it was very minimal and relegated to a few hints. The biggest disappointment came in the form of Smith teasing some artwork for the film, but it only being a couple pieces of art for charity that has nothing to do with the film.
However, Smith is back at on the Hollywood Babbel-On Podcast. This time he lets it be known that he HAS seen pictures of Ben Affleck in the Batsuit. He said it’s unlike anything we have seen on film before, and continued on to say it blew his mind. Check out the full quote below:
“I saw the costume. More than that I saw a picture of him (Affleck) in the costume. Now, I don’t want to give anything away ’cause that is up to them and stuff, but I am going to say this I instantly bear hugged him (Snyder). You have not seen this costume in a movie on film before, and for a comic book fan it was mind bending. I was like ‘Get out of here, only you have enough power to pull this off.’ Because everyone always like does this Matrix/X-men black armor…It was fantastic. I’m already a flag waver for this movie but the costume, it blew my mind. I think everyone is just gonna be like ‘Holy Shit!’ It’s its own thing, man. It’s like we haven’t been down this path at all. I was so elated….Even the hardest core F*** all this” person will be like ‘alright, I’m ready.’“
So there you have it. Regardless of how you feel about Smith’s work (I happen to enjoy it) you have to admit he knows his stuff when it comes to the comic book world. So seeing that he loves what it is they are going for in the film makes me excited for when we will have the offical reveal of the Batsuit. He also said the suit reminds hims of a certain artist, but the name redacted from the podcast. As usual make sure to check back here at Comic Book Therapy for the latest on all thing Batman Vs. Superman.
UPDATE: According to a fan that was at the podcast (Via Batman-News) recording, at The Improv, the redacted artist in which whom Smith was referring to was none other than famed artist Jim Lee. So that could mean we are getting the long fan coveted Grey or Blue color scheme instead of just black.
