Juggernaut Being In DAYS OF FUTURE PAST Was A Lot Closer To Happening Than We Originally Thought
A few months ago it was revealed that Juggernaut also made it into X-Men: Days of Future Past. Writer Simon Kinberg and director Bryan Singer said the mutant had a small scene of importance, but he was replaced for the same function with Quicksilver in subsequent drafts. Since it sounded like the unstoppable mutant was only in the drafting stages of the film, nobody thought about it too much. Well recent comments from Josh Helman, who plays William Stryker in the film, makes it sound like it might have been a little further along than originally thought.
IGN posted a story today that featured an interesting quote from the actor. He says that he “originally got hired on a different role, which is no longer in the script- it was going to be a young Juggernaut. So I was like, ‘Oh shit I’ve got to put on like 30 pounds! So I was training for like four weeks, and then I got a phone call saying ‘Good news and bad news. Bad news first: Juggernatu’s no longer in the script. Good news: They’re having trouble with another role and they want to see you for it.’” Things worked out well for the actor considering he got what is said to be a more sizable role with William Stryker, but this becomes one of those interesting ‘what might have been’ stories. Juggernaut fans will just have to keep waiting for the X-Men movies to get him right one of these days. What do you think about Helman’s comments?
