John Barrowman Teases Captain Jack’s Return For Doctor Who’s 50th

John BarrowmanIt seems like most fans have two questions about Doctor Who’s 50th Anniversary special. The first is always ‘will it be a multi-Doctor episode?’and the other one is usually ‘is Captain Jack Harkness coming back?’ It seems like the more we hear about what Steven Moffat has in store, the answers to both questions is yes.

John Barrowman has remained pretty honest about a possible Cap’n Jack return, saying he hadn’t been approached yet. Well today he appeared on the UK’s ITV show This Morning where he said he believes Jack will be back. It seemed like he was talking to the BBC mere moments before appearing on the show. The video making the rounds is pretty poor quality, but here’s the transcript:

I haven’t had any information up until just about right now.  All I can say to you is that we’re discussing. That’s a total exclusive, you guys are the first ever to hear. Even yesterday I was giving interviews and I was saying ‘I have heard nothing’ and now I can give you a little bit of an exclusive.

After the show, Barrowman did try to backtrack a little bit. He sent out this Tweet trying to show it may not be the involvement we think. It may be a mini episode or something else entirely:

I think the BBC just wasn’t too happy with him saying what he said. I’d be surprised if Jack doesn’t pop up even for a few seconds somewhere in a Doctor Who episode or the actual 50th Anniversary special. It seems like we might be getting several older companions in Doctor Who. Louise Jameson, better known as 4th Doctor companion Leela, answered a fan’s question on Twitter by saying “None of us knows yet what’s going on, just told to keep the days free. Mmmmmmmmm intriguing.” So it looks like we’ll be getting a lot of the older faces coming back in some capacity. What do you think?
