Joe Carnahan Comments On Failed Daredevil Reboot, Shares Sizzle Videos

The clock appears to have run out on Fox’s Daredevil reboot. As was reported the other day by Ecksmanfan, Fox and director Joe Carnahan’s production seems to have been in trouble. The director took to Twitter yet again to vent some of his frustration with the developments. After the below comments, he stated that if he hit 6,000 followers he would post two sizzle pieces that he had worked on to show the film’s tone. As you can imagine, he quickly hit the number. True to his word, he revealed the two videos. One is a harder NC-17 video and the other is a more PG-13 tone. Before you get your hopes too high, they are just cuts from the first Dardevil movie, some of the comics, and other movies whose tone they were trying to emulate.

It seems that no deals are going to be made. Fox will continue to hold onto Fantastic Four and all the related characters but Marvel will be the sole owner of Daredevil. It will be interesting to see how this develops. The actual rights don’t revert until October. No word on if Marvel has plans to get started on a film of their own or even use the character in their movie line-up.

I’m OK with this not being made. The idea they had, the grittier version, was a great, but I worry that this would have come across as a bit silly. Your move Marvel!

Looking forward to what Marvel does with the property back where it belongs. I hope they don’t let it collect dust in the closet.

If I was at marvel I’d let it sit for a few years before even messing with it. Let the stink of fox fade out then make it good. I hate DD about as much as I hate Flash, but I think Marvel making the movie could make me like him a little. I’ll never like flash though…..ever.
