Jim Sturgess And Zachary Levi Up For Star-Lord In Guardians Of The Galaxy
We had heard not too long ago that Marvel and Disney had a pretty lengthy list of contenders for the role of Peter Quill, the Guardians of the Galaxy’s leader, better known as Star-Lord. Well tonight we’re hearing that the list has been narrowed down to just a few actors.
According to Variety, Marve had made test deals with five actors but it’s Cloud Atlas star Jim Sturgess who is the “only one from the list to remain in contention.” Also mentioned is Zachary Levi. The choice of Zachary Levi would seem a stretch considering he has stepped in for Josh Dallas to play Fandral in Thor: The Dark World. However, Marvel seems to be impressed with his test footage and are open to using Levi.
But, there is always a ‘but‘, there is an unnamed third actor who may be auditioning after the holidays. So the list is narrowed down to a manageable size. Let the speculation begin! I would think that Sturgess is the clear frontrunner from how things have been going with the casting process. Levi would be an odd choice considering he has taken another franchise role with Fandril, but another Warrior Three (Ray Stevenson) played The Punisher as you well know. It seems it all hinges on the mystery man’s test. What do you think about the Guardians news? Out of Sturgess and Levi, who would you rather head the Guardians?
